Applications for the European Heritage Hub are open until 19th December for best local practices that support the green, social, and digital transformation in cultural heritage! The programme is targeted at municipal and regional institutions, with the most inspiring projects being promoted and having the opportunity to participate in a specially organised study visit and online workshops. We warmly encourage you to apply!
The Europa Nostra European Heritage Hub is one of the largest cultural heritage projects supporting the green, social and digital transformation across the continent. The organisation is once again looking for local good practices in this area to promote ten selected examples. Last year, the Coal Mining Museum in Zabrze was included in this list with its project “Preservation of the cultural heritage of Silesian industry via the creation of digital artifacts”. It was the only project from Central and Eastern Europe to be recognised in the project.

How to participate in the project?
To take part in the project, simply fill out the online form. The application can also be completed “on behalf of” a local or regional administration. It can be submitted, for example, by a university, a person involved in architecture or local and regional activism. In this case, written support from a representative of the local or regional administration responsible for the proposed initiative must be submitted.
The European Cultural Heritage Centre offers a training programme for people from municipal institutions as well as those specialising in cultural heritage. Its aim is to share good practices and equip those involved with the skills to meet the environmental, digital and social challenges related to cultural heritage in their local context.
As part of the project, the European Heritage Hub offers:
– The collection and presentation of ten inspiring practices from across Europe, with an emphasis on their impact and transferability from one local context to others; these practices will be selected from the received submissions.
– Organisation of two study visits to selected European cities/regions in 2026, enabling participants to exchange experiences and learn from experts.
– Organisation of two related online workshops, “Sharing Local Stories,” devoted to analysing the good practices presented.
