The Narrative Heritage Network aims to bring together practitioners in the field of storytelling, whether they be artists, producers, curators, or other heritage professionals working to make the story of heritage come alive — intangible or tangible.
Heritage is a story: seamless processes, bonded by place and people. How can we approach heritage to help us better understand our very essence? How can we engage the public with the heritage that surrounds us? What senses do we have to employ to bring us closer to it?
Over the course of four curated online meetings, the Narrative Heritage Network shall discuss different approaches to storytelling in heritage, with each meeting focusing on a particular sense or theme (final programme TBD by the network’s partners during an initial meeting and online discussion).
Each online meeting will have a workshop format, encompassing a particular theme relating to heritage storytelling, including:
– Heritage through Multimedia
– Heritage through Sound
– Heritage through Vision
– Heritage through Smell
Does storytelling resonate with you and your organisation? Would you like to share knowledge and ideas on heritage narratives? How can we be better storytellers? Join the Narrative Heritage Network, an initiative set up and run by the Europa Nostra Heritage Hub in Kraków in the frame of the EU-funded European Heritage Hub project.

>>> How to speak about heritage from a people perspective? We warmly invite you to the inaugural meeting of our new Narrative Heritage Network on Tuesday, 16 December at 12:00, which will take place online! In the presence of international experts who are dedicated to storytelling, we will explore how to speak in ways that can be heard and how to engage different senses in the transmission of knowledge. We encourage participation and the exchange of experiences, as well as discussions on current challenges.
