Let me tell you a story… The Europa Nostra Kraków Heritage Hub launches the Narrative Heritage Network, an line platform for the exchange of ideas in heritage storytelling. On 16 December 2025 the Europa Nostra Heritage Hub in Kraków launched the Narrative Heritage Network, an online platform which aims to bring together heritage practitioners in the broad field of storytelling.
Over 120 attendees logged on to join the meeting, which was hosted by head of the Heritage Hub in Kraków, Dr Katarzyna Jagodzińska. Introductory words were heard from SneškaQuaedvlieg-Mihailović, Secretary General of Europa Nostra, who underlined the importance of the European heritage story, as well as Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik, the Director of the International Cultural Centre in Kraków, the operator of the European Heritage Hub project.
The main focus of the meeting was to provide an introduction to narrative heritage, and the Hub’s John Beauchamp gave a 30-minute presentation on various narrative interpretations of heritage as well as its sensory applications based on real-life examples from across Europe. Special emphasis was placed on sonic heritage, although a wide range of narrative possibilities were highlighted, aimed at provoking members of the audience to think about storytelling in their day-to-day work within the field of heritage.
After the presentation, a lively discussion was held for around an hour on the challenges heritage practitioners face in their storytelling efforts, as well as how future meetings of the Narrative Heritage Network may be organised.
