The latest research conducted by the Europa Nostra Heritage Hub in Kraków, set to be published in June 2025, sheds light on the state of the NGO sector focused on heritage in Central and Eastern Europe. Unfortunately, it reveals that many individuals working in this field also struggle with stress and burnout – a phenomenon increasingly common in our society.
How can we find balance in a fast-paced world? Could practising heritage be an effective remedy for these significant challenges? In the latest episode of the “Holistic Heritage” podcast, we posed these questions to members of the Serfenta Association from Cieszyn, which was honoured in 2024 with the prestigious Europa Nostra Award / European Heritage Award for their innovative Craft Revitalisation Model. During the conversation, the art of basket weaving intertwines with the peace it brings. We warmly invite you to listen to the discussion with John Beauchamp and Dr Katarzyna Jagodzińska as they speak with Paulina Adamska, Łucja Cieślar, and Urszula Szwed, members of Serfenta Association.
“When the hands work, the mind rests.” – emphasises Łucja Cieślar during the meeting. Listening to the latest podcast episode guarantees complete relaxation. For your listening pleasure, we’ve recorded the ASMR “speech” of various reeds and straw, whose rustling has the power to transport you far beyond everyday concerns.
