Europa Nostra Heritage Hub for Central and Eastern Europe in Kraków is a regional centre of Europa Nostra, a pan-European federation of organisations involved in the protection, management, and promotion of cultural and natural heritage in 40 European countries.

As a platform, we strengthen the voice of NGOs from Central and Eastern Europe in shaping European heritage policy.
We facilitate cooperation between civic organisations and heritage institutions in the region.
We increase the visibility of activities supporting heritage in the region.

New podcast in Ukraine Heritage Spotlight series: Creating heritage for the future

One of the most important activities in heritage research is not just looking at the past, but recording the present for future generations of citizens and scholars. This is exactly what Dr Iryna Sklokina is doing from the Center for Urban History in Lviv. One of the centre’s projects is „Un-archiving Post-industry”, which digitally preserves endangered industrial heritage collections in Ukraine’s East.

On April 17, 2024, Europa Nostra and the European Investment Bank (EIB) Institute announced the list of the 7 Most Endangered monuments and heritage sites in Europe for 2024. This programme is one of Europe’s leading civil society campaigns to safeguard endangered heritage.

The European Heritage Hub has selected 10 initiatives aimed at identifying exemplary local good practices in the field of cultural heritage that contribute to the green, digital, and social transformation of our society. Civic Heritage Forum in Toruń

On March 5, 2024, we initiated Citizens’ Heritage Forum on tour. At the invitation of the Marshal’s Office of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, the team of the Europa Nostra Heritage Hub presented projects realised by Europa Nostra and carried out a workshop for non-governmental organisations operating in the region.

3. The Krakow Heritage Forum discussed the intangible heritage of Kraków

On February 28, 2024, the third Kraków Heritage Forum took place – a meeting of Kraków non-governmental heritage organisations. Nineteen people from sixteen organisations and representatives of the Kraków Municipality took part in the meeting. The topic of Kraków’s intangible heritage, initiated during the second Forum, was continued in the workshop formula.
